In 2010 I decided to start taking photos with my collection of film cameras, using a different one each week. After 10 years, and 522 cameras, I brought the project to a close. I have been writing a regular column about it in the UK magazine "Amateur Photographer" since 2011.
I've got the previous version of this camera, it worked pretty good. If you want to take a look:

Actually I didn't have a scanner suitable for 127mm at the time, so I had the photos printed then scanned the prints; later I scanned the negatives and the result was much better of course.
Thanks for the link to your photos, I'm glad you were able to use the camera too. I don't have a holder for 127 film, so I lay it on the scanner bed and use glass slides to weight it down, sometimes a difficult task with the ultra-curly Efke!
DeleteWonderful results from that funny little camera. Thanks for showing its capabilities so ably. It was my first camera when I was very young and without any idea of what kind of pictures might be made with it. I've been tempted to get another in spite of the film expense, so I'm pleased to have my curiosity satisfied now without going further. Always enjoy your adventures with these old cameras.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your encouraging comments, why not put a film in your old Brownie for old times sake? Mind you, it's a slippery slope, you might not be able to stop once you've started....
