This Ukrainian stereo camera is unusaul in having a "7 perforation" or 30mm x 24mm frame size. The automatic exposure system seems to be working, but the accuracy will only become apparent when I develop the film. I've loaded it with Kodak ISO400 colour negative film..

Even in late winter sunshine, there is a risk of over-exposing the ISO200 film in a camera that was made for a time when colour films were much "slower". These metal animals have recently appeared in one of the local parks.

This was very over-exposed, and the attempted correction seems to have brought out the Newton's rings, but it has a rough and ready look to it!

Week 114 - Bencini Comet

This is one of the less common models, it has beige trim rather than the more common black, and also takes square 4x4cm negatives, most of the Comets use the 3x4cm format.
I've loaded it with Macocolor negative film, it has a couple of shutter speeds and apertures, so there is some flexibility in exposure possible.

The first time I took this shot I used 1/30th of a second, but I got the impression that the shutter had acted as if it was on the "B" setting. There is no instant return on the mirror, which might have helped settle the question, so to be on the safe side I re-shot it at 1/60th. When I developed the film, I could see that I had been correct about the unintended long exposure.

The shutter didn't run smoothly, so most of the photos are over-exposed on the left, and under-exposed on the right. This is a square crop, which I think suits the composition, but also loses the worst of the uneveness in the negative.
This one was taken with a Jupiter-11 135mm f4.0 telephoto lens.
Converted to black and white after scanning.
