festival benches
The second film I used in Venice was home redscaled Agfa Vista from Poundland, these tables and benches were laid out for a local festival.

Venice Architecture Biennale - Romanian Pavillion
These strange automata were in the Romanian Pavillio at the Architecture Biennale, this was hand held, and the shutter speed was rather slow, hence the slight blurring.

choppy conditions in the basino
I took the Pentax to Venice with me, this shows the rather choppy conditions on the water, taken using the "panoramic" mode.

Week 341 - Pentax Espio 120Mi

Pentax Espio 120 Mi
I have already used several of the Pentax Espio series of compact point and shoot cameras. Like many others, this one has a faux-panoramic setting, and as the name suggests, the maximum focal length is 120mm.

More from the St. Mary's summer fete, this time some spotted bunting.

Eric and the Belly Dancers
My grandson Eric, not quite sure what to make of the belly dancers at the local summer fete.

Indian Kathak Dance
Although I've had worse weeks, this was something of a disaster, with the camera falling apart after about 10 exposures! The lens/shutter assembly detached itself from the body (it's not supposed to). It may be repairable, but not in the time I had available, so this week's offerings are limited.
This shot was taken with the 115mm Pro-Tessar auxiliary lens.

Week 340 - Contaflex Super

Contaflex Super
The Contaflex range of single lens reflexes were made by Zeiss Ikon for nearly 20 years starting in 1953. The design evolved considerably over the years, and there were many variations along the way. They all have leaf shutters, and the only way of altering the lens is to use a "Pro-Tessar" front element replacement auxillary lens. The Super was introduced in 1962.

reflected self-portrait with Rex Flash camera and jester's hat
This indoor self-portrait was underexposed, as expected, but came out better than I thought it would!

Women of Steel
This newly unveiled statue in Sheffield city centre commemorates the role played by women in the steel industry during the wars of the 20th century. It still looks as if they were a little closer to the camera than the optimum distance for sharp focus.

deer
This is a very simple camera, with no adjustments at all. I expected that the optimum distance for a subject was going to me more than the 1m or so here, but I thought I'd try and get a close up of this deer in my local park.

Week 339 - Rex Flash

Coronet Rex Flash
This is a simple eye-level box camera. There is one shutter speed, one aperture, and no focussing. I've loaded it with Fuji Provia 400X

Tate Modern Tanks
Three frames taken in the newly opened tanks at Tate Modern. The light levels were low, and these were taken at full aperture and 1/25th sec.

Taken indoors at 1/25th second and f4, this is a crop from the full negative.

Albert Memorial (detail)
I used Fomapan 200 black and white film this week. This was taken at the closest focusing distance and at a large aperture to minimize depth of field.
