Three consecutive frames, the motor drive makes it easy to take sequences without having to take your eye from the viewfinder in order to wind on.

These were taken one after the other, with the lens zoomed in a bit for one of them. The vignetting is due to the rubber lens hood which came with the camera, but is obviously not suitable for this lens!

This is a strange camera, which looks like a 1990s camcorder, but is actually a half frame 35mm SLR. I used it's predecessor, the Samurai X3.0 in week 13 of this project, and had a bit of a disaster with the processing, I'm hoping for better luck this week.

The Espio has a switchable panoramic mask which seemed to suit the vertical composition here. It was a bright day, so even at ISO 25 the aperture was probably reasonably small, so the depth of field is quite extensive.

We were on holiday in Venice on changeover day, and in the absence of one of my own hats, I had to improvise! There is probably some camera shake here, as it was taken inddors and the ISO setting was 25, so a slow shutter speed and full aperture resulted.

I used the redscale technique this week, where a film is re-spooled and exposed through the orange coloured base, giving a marked red/orange hue to the images. This one is a double exposure, the same subject with the camera rotated by about 90 degrees between exposures.

This is a recent charity shop find. I've already put one film through it, and decided to use a redscale film this time. It has a "panoramic" mode (mask at the film plane) and is able to do double exposures.

San Giorgio Maggiore by pho-Tony

This view has been photographed many many times, so no claims to originality. It was a bright sunny day, and the resulting small aperture seems to have produced a sharp image.

There is no "B" setting on this camera, and even in the bright morning sunlight, this indoors photo is quite underexposed. There is no focussing on the camera, and assuming the automatic exposure system is working, this will have been full aperture, with its associated shallow depth of field.

This week's photos are all taken in Venice, this one was shot from a moving water-bus. The shutter speed is relatively slow, which explains the slight motion blur at the front of the boat.

Week 140 - Brownie Starmatic

Continuing in my aim to use as many 127 cameras in the year of the centenary of the format, I've loaded up this Brownie Starmatic with Efke 100 film. This is quite a sophisticated Brownie, with an automatic exposure system, which sets the aperture according to light levels, the shutter speed remains fixed. It has a 44mm lens, which is wider than the average 127 square format lens.
